Special Collections of Wageningen University & Research – Library is a great source of visual documentation on a wide array of subjects. Main subjects are agriculture, botany, livestock farming and garden and landscape designs. We organise exhibitions on the edge of science and heritage.
The exhibitions show highlights from the Special Collections, Image Collections or other WUR Library collections.
This digital exhibition is a spinoff of the exhibition Dutch Landscape Designed: 1946-1954, that was exhibited at Special Collections-WUR Library from 3 November 2022 until the beginning of April 2023.
Wageningen University & Research has always been interested in and committed to the visual arts. Art and science can reinforce one another by inspiring new discoveries and allowing for a meaningful dialogue on the implications of these discoveries.
In 34 aerial photographs the story of the liberation of the Netherlands, 75 years ago in 2020, is told.
About us
Special Collections, a department of WUR Library, offers collections of rare, old and vulnerable documents that need particular care and attention, in management, conservation and user accessibility. The collections include garden and landscape designs, nursery catalogues, aerial photographs and academic heritage. A large part is digitally available through the WUR Image Collections.
